When Matt Peterson joined a national production best practices panel at ECA, he wasn’t just representing himself — he was taking All Craft’s production systems and customer service philosophy to the national stage.
The Exterior Contractors Alliance (ECA) is a national peer group of established exterior contractors who meet to discuss real-world challenges in roofing, siding, windows, labor management, supply chain planning, and customer service. Membership is by invitation only.
This isn’t theory or vendor-driven content. It’s contractors sharing what actually works in the field — what improves production efficiency, protects margins, and most importantly, creates a better experience for homeowners.
Recently, our Production Operations Manager, Matt Peterson, participated in a Production Best Practices panel at ECA’s meeting in Las Vegas, contributing to discussions that directly affect how exterior projects are delivered across the country.
When homeowners hire a roofing or siding contractor in Rochester, MN, they often compare materials and price. But what determines whether the experience feels smooth or stressful is the production system behind the scenes.
At ECA, conversations centered around:
As Matt shared during the event:
“It’s important to know what to plan for… there are a lot of changes affecting our industry right now. We need to be on the ball when it comes to planning, making sure we have inventory ready for homeowners, and that there aren’t huge surprises when it comes to pricing.”
Planning ahead protects homeowners from unexpected delays and cost shocks. That’s the real takeaway.
No construction project is perfect. Weather turns bad. Materials run late. Details can change. The difference between a frustrating experience and a professional one is how those moments are handled.
As Matt explained:
“Keeping customers on your side… by being honest when problems do come up. Nothing is perfect, no matter how hard we try. But working with a customer, having a game plan to resolve a situation in a customer’s favor — honesty is the main thing.”
In 2025, All Craft made a deliberate commitment to get ahead of issues before they turn into complaints:
“We took a stand in 2025 that everybody at the company — at every level — if anything goes wrong, we wanted to be more proactive… raise your hand and address the concern before it becomes a call to the office or a bad review online.”
That mindset protects our 4.9 Google rating — but more importantly, it protects the homeowner experience.
Production excellence isn’t just about installing shingles correctly. It’s about delivering a smooth, organized process from start to finish.
As Matt reflected on the ECA discussions:
“The knowledge in that room is amazing… sharing real life experiences and best practices helps All Craft streamline our processes in ways that are really beneficial for our customers. From the first phone call, through the estimation process and straight through the project to completion, it all adds up to a better experience.”
That includes:
When those systems work together, homeowners feel confident — not stressed.
The construction industry is experiencing consolidation at the distributor and manufacturer level. Ownership changes can impact pricing, availability, and responsiveness.
Matt emphasized the value of long-standing relationships:
“We’ve always had very strong relationships with our local suppliers and vendors. They trust us and can help our customers by going to bat for us with manufacturers on behalf of the homeowner.”
Membership in ECA expands those relationships even further — connecting All Craft with decision-makers higher up in supply organizations.
For homeowners, that means:
We’re proud that Matt Peterson represented All Craft Exteriors on a national stage, contributing to conversations about production quality, labor stability, and customer service.
“There is a huge value in having our crew take part in these meetings. The payback for the effort always comes,” says company founder Brent Beck. “It’s great to know that we’ll bring home information we can use to better serve our customers, and it’s also really cool that All Craft has know-how that is worth sharing at a nation conference. I’m really proud of our team.”
But the real value of that leadership shows up here at home — in Rochester, Minnesota — on every roofing, siding, window, and gutter project we complete.
Because improving production isn’t about us.
It’s about protecting your home — and delivering an experience you’d recommend to your neighbor.
